The Greek Film Centre (GFC), wishing to further reinforce the extrovert practices regarding the development of Greek Cinema, is happy to announce its collaboration with the Torino Film Lab, one of the most acclaimed cinema labs worldwide.


The Torino Film Lab was established in 2008 and since then it is distinguished for his constant and consistent support to new talents from all over the world, focusing mainly on filmmakers who are in the process of creating their first and/or second feature length film. The educational activities of the Torino Film Lab have to do with the training, development, funding and distribution of films.


One of the most important educational programs of the Torino Film Lab is the ScriptLab, the first phase of which will take place next March, (March 19-26, 2018) in Greece, thus officially inaugurating the collaboration of the lab with the GFC.


In the ScriptLab 2018, there will be selected at least one project from Greece. The creators of the chosen projects will have the opportunity to benefit form a high-level education program on script development, and also to widen their connections and networking with other film professionals, in a particularly extrovert environment, since the Torino Film Lab is known for the emphasis it gives to the cultural variety of its participating projects.


More specifically, the creators of the chosen projects will participate: a) in 3 weekly residential workshops and 2 online sessions and b) in the co-production forum TFL Meeting Event, in order to receive further training regarding pitching skills.


One of the Greek projects selected, will not pay participation feee. Another two Greek projects –excluding those chosen for the ScriptLab 2018– will have the opportunity to receive an in-depth opinion regarding their scripts, in a one and a half hour meeting for each project, which will take place in the framework of the lab.


The activities of the Torino Film Lab also include two open lectures on script development, which will take place in Athens, Greece, giving the opportunity to as many Greek filmmakers as possible to further widen their knowledge on the subject. The Greek cinema community will also have the possibility to be in contact and interact with the wider dynamic community of acclaimed film professionals and guests with whom the Torino Film Lab collaborates.
